I probably could have been documenting some of the Legion references in Supergirl just for the sake of reference.  Spoilers after the jump

I know most people do reviews as soon as an issue comes out but I am just not that dedicated.   I rarely get my new comics the day they come out.   Also, not much of a review as a synopsis and to figure out anything LSH related.  This may contain spoilers however I hope most people have read by now. 

A Case of Comet Queen

I feel it is time to finally tackle one of the biggest sore spots in the Legion.  Created by Keith Giffen and Paul Levitz, Grava of Extal was first introduced in LSH #304 as an Academy member and received a good bit of supporting play.  She was given a proper origin:  a young fan of the Legion, she sought to replicate the incident that gave Star Boy his powers but the incident created a much deeper, physical change, giving her the ability to fly, survive in outer space, partial invulnerability to high speed flight damage and the ability to emit noxious gases.

If there is one thing that has stood the test of time with Legion, it's the flight rin, one of the most recognizable elements that makes it's way into random comics and TV appearances.  It's first appearance was Adventure #329 in 1965.  I often have a problem how being the times the Legion in in it's depictions of future tech.  This one holds up.

A profile in mediocrity: Mwindaji

This my companion post to Otaki. Mwindaji was a character from the Retroboot, appearing in a handful of issues from volume 7.  Presumably, he was part of a new class at the Academy along with Otaki after Comet Queen and the others moved up.  I feel like Otaki and Mwindaji

Defensive powers - a summation

I think most of my blog posts about Legionnaires are starting to wind down but this topic seems to be what it all boils down to.

Now, let me classify what I consider defensive powers:  those powers and abilities that do not cause a direct change against an opponent or their environment.  Most of the Legionnaires can be categorized  in one of these two groups however, if Projectra was able to use her powers to actually upset someone's sense of balance, she could actually branch over into an offensive power.  But for the most part, those with defensive powers have to rely on evasion in some form or another.  How many times has Dawnstar had to get cruisers to chase her in order to get them to crash?
